Former Stables of North Metropolitan Tramway Company. Land was Leased from J. Swinyard on 22nd November 1898 and the shed built with an entrance on Green Lanes, and Seven Sisters Road behind the Manor House Hostelry. The premeses could accommodate 25 cars and 200 - 300 horses. When the MET took over it was found that because the building was semi basement the roof was too low for the new electric tramcars. It was therefore used as a permanant way depot. The ivy covered building extending along Seven Sisters Road was altered in 1907, the original 7 windows being replaced by 32, terra-cotta stringers put along the front elevation, and a terra-cotta portico added. By 1910 the building was in full use by the traffic and engineering staff of the MET. In 1913 it became the headquarters of the MET, LUT, and SMET (all being subsideries of London and Suburban Transport) and remained so until the formation of London Transport.
