Original main station building - in common with most stations on this line the current 'Fast' lines were built first, so the main building was on this side. The 'Slow' lines, nearest the camera, were extended southwards in the 1890s, and at first served only for goods traffic. They were converted to passenger lines in 1895 after the second Elstree tunnel was opened. '
