' Railway goods shed - I remember three wheeler 'tugs' (Scammel Scarabs!) hauling goods from here for distribution in the town. Plus steam locos shunting in the yards - Expresses also came thru this yard to go direct to Cleethorpes with Holiday Makers specials from the south. I have seen 'Come to Sunny Cleethorpes' posters on the station at London Kings Cross! They would bypass Grimsby Town Station and go direct thru the goods depot to get to Cleethorpes. The loco would turn on the turntable at Cleethorpes and go direct back down south thru the goods yards again, taking the 'Day Trippers' home again. '
