As a Middletonian bred and born, I remember some paths and roads from my school days. The last time I visited Middleton, there was an overgrown pathway that was called Schofield Walk and I wanted to pin the name to it. To get to it you had to travel up "William Street", that we used to call, lovingly, "Billy Brew", because it was up a slope. '
