Electricity Works (subsequently owned by Seeboard).
When this site was being cleared for housing (Windsor Place development)by Barratt Housing in early 2001 a large boiler filled with concrete was found buried to the right of the building with the chimney. I later through friends met the man, who as a young man at the start of his career, had had the job of filling it with concrete. During the Electric Plant's life it was used to store the fuel oil. The boiler was salvaged from a German U-boat from the first world war. '
