' This gap in the frontage of the east side of the High Street is the site of the original Tewkesbury railway station, which had an ornate Tudor gothic style facade in Postlip stone and a simple trainshed. Opened in 1839 it closed to passengers in 1865 when the second station opened. Some of the 1928 Aerofilms views on this site show the original station quite clearly, the date of demolition is unknown but it had clearly gone by 1947. '
