Beeston Castle Aviation Fuel Reserve Depot
WW2 aviation fuel depot built by the RAF in 1942 with 6 buried storage tanks holding 29,000 tons of fuel. Now disused, but you can still see evidence of the buried storage tanks, including the entry tunnels which are visible from passing trains on the Crewe to Chester line. |
