Hello all, Thank you Class31 for your cataloguing work - as you suspected we have had confirmation that this image is indeed of Pyle in Wales. Our original register entry had this listed as English with the caption "Clouds". The image is now in the process of being changed to a Welsh image and catalogued accordingly. We shall have to pass this one over to our colleagues in Aberystwyth at the RCAHMW. I am confident in this identification. Everything fits for Pyle in South Wales looking west. |

Thank you Katy for the Bristol hint which encouraged me to look afresh at the Bristol Channel area. This is a view of Pyle looking west along the South Wales Main Line railway towards Kenfig Burrows. In the distance we can see the coast of Gower across Swansea Bay. |
