' MV"Queen Of The Channel" ( 2nd vessel to bear that name)was built by Denny of Dumbarton and entered service in 1948. She originally sailed from Ramsgate to the French coast but was transferred to the Tower Pier - Southend /Clacton services in 1950. Like the rest of the GSN Co's Thames fleet she was withdrawn after the end of the 1966 season and was sold to Greek owners, being renamed "Oia".Later known as "Leto", she was finally scrapped in 1984. '
