This house was built for William Pickles Hartley when the preserves manufacturing was transferred from Bootle to Aintree. The Pickles family moved to a large villa in Southport in the early twentieth century. This house was used as an office until the factory closed in the 1960s after a take over by Schweppes who moved production down south. '
