Butterfly Brickworks owned by Hughes Bros. reference 1943 Ministry of War Register, recording brickworks during the war & the Butterfly Works was closed & under the care of the Ministry - in most cases being used to store armaments. Kelly's trade directories from 1908 to 1940 editions record Hughes Brothers at Station Road, Old Hill. The brickworks is first shown on the 1900 OS map. '
