' Parkhead Quoiting Ground. Quoiting was a traditional sport popular in industrial and farming communities. The game involved throwing heavy metal quoits or hoops towards a pin about 18-22 yards away. Many clubs had their own grounds but this one first appears on the OS maps in 1935. By the OS 1:1250 map (1954) the ground is no longer shown. '
