Twyford Abbey. The Brent used to wind its way through these grounds. Then it was more or less straightened like a concrete trough from the Harrow Road to the Piccadilly line bridges. This aligned it with the new North Circular Road in 1934.
The Abbey gave its name to the hotel, a housing estate, an industrial estate, and the first road on the housing estate. '
