Woodthorpe Grange fish pond fed by a stream from Mapperley. By the 1920's and after, it had become a paddling pool until by the 1940's it leaked and would no longer hold water.
From 1940 until 1947 the land on this side of Woodthorpe Park was ploughed and worked by The Land Army for growing potatoes and carrots. '
