Department store and headquarters of the Bradford Cooperative Society. There were others in Bradford: e.g. the Great Horton Industrial Society. This building in the modern style of the 1930s was extended and named Sunwin House in the 1960s.
The large rectangular shape on the roof with long shallow windows was the cafe where, even in the 1950s, waitresses in black uniforms with white aprons and caps attended the customers. The windows were clerestory lights. '
