I stand corrected over the church name. We lived along Swinton Park Road in the 50's/ 60's and the sound of the Lads' Brigade bugles was a frequent feature of Sunday mornings. |

I wonder if you can recall a mens barbor just on corner of claremont and the junction of the east lancs. I think he was called micky price. I'm doing my fam hist and would like to get my facts right. He was hair cutting end of the 50's when I left the area. |

The barber referred to by Gordw was Dickie Price. He was a keen Swinton RLFC fan and the shop was full of Swinton memorabilia. He could cut a lad's hair in around a minute but styling was on the basic side! |

My great grandfather was a coal merchant at 280 Bolton rd Irlams o th Height. I am sure I can see steam wagons in his yard behind 280 Bolton road.If the original photo was of sufficiently good resolution I would be able to confirm that. |
