Yes, deep ploughing (well as deep as possible on stoney ground) to improve drainage and provide some broken ground for planting. One suspects that the planting density was greater than just these lines. |

Looking South East over the Pinwherran Burn at Greymare's Mire. This area can be identified by the two burns. The burns have bends which match the photo. This area is shown on the OS map as Greymare's Mire. |
