' Bradley Viaduct was built by the Midland Railway in 1907 and opened in 1910. During its short life the line exclusively carried freight on the Newtown Goods, Midland Railway from Mirfield to Huddersfield. Despite being designed for express passenger trains only one line was ever laid and the route little used. The section over the viaduct was closed completely in 1937. Now this magnificent 15 arch viaduct is open to all as part of the national cycle route. '
