This is part of the railway branch into this site that, as seen, curved on an embankment to a bridge over the A59 road so to connect with a siding on the mainline to Liverpool and Preston etc. This bridge is still extant but the Enka works has long gone. Just below the pin you can just see one of the fireless locomotives that pulled wagons to and from the mainline and the works. These locos were built by Andrew Barclay Sons & Co Ltd of Kilmarnock. '
