Good view of the front of Paramount Court in 1946. Behind it is the Paramount Cinema (opened on 10 February 1936, became the Odeon in November 1946, closed on 5 March 1960).

The building on the site before Paramount Court was Tottenham House, occupied by Shoolbred's department store. James Shoolbred and Company started as a draper's at 155 Tottenham Court Road in the 1820s and gradually expanded. In the 1870s the store began designing, manufacturing and selling high-quality furniture. The company ceased trading in 1931.
