Site of Royal Naval Armaments Depot Marchwood. The RNAD had its origins in the Napoleonic War and was developed from 1812 to the 1890s. It fell out of use and was closed in 1961. Much of the area has recently been redeveloped as housing, but a number of listed structures from the depot remain, some in use by a yacht club. |
