| A "Motor train" or a "Push & Pull". In this case a tank locomotive pushing a coach from which the driver would operate the controls leaving the fireman on the footplate to look after the fire. Such a compilation would not have to be uncoupled, just reversed at the destination, with the driver returning to the loco. |
