Interesting in that it shows the depot under construction - the northern sheds still have no roof - and the depot doesn't yet appear to be tramway connected. Birchfields Road depot opened in 1928 - the Kingsway reserved tramway had opened to Mauldeth Road, south of this point, on 18 July 1926. |

Electric trams ran in Greater Manchester until 10 January 1949. Trolleybuses were introduced in the 1930s and some tram tracks were removed for scrap during World War II |
