Interesting in that it shows the depot under construction - the northern sheds still have no roof - and the depot doesn't yet appear to be tramway connected. Birchfields Road depot opened in 1928 - the Kingsway reserved tramway had opened to Mauldeth Road, south of this point, on 18 July 1926.

Electric trams ran in Greater Manchester until 10 January 1949. Trolleybuses were introduced in the 1930s and some tram tracks were removed for scrap during World War II
