Looking at the photos before and after, somewhere between Walsall and Wolverhampton presumably. An old town, e.g Willenhall, with a wide, curved, High St, before urban expansion?

This is a pretty monumental building. Any ideas as to what it is? A museum? Council offices? A posh tram depot? How would you describe the architectural style? Neo-classical? Is the arch/gateway on the left attached to it?

Hi Sandra

The credit on this one is mainly due to RichardW who came up with the location. I've just added some additional information which confirms that RichardW found the right location which has eluded us for a long time. I had concentrated on the Walsall to Wolverhampton area but in the event the location is south of Birmingham. I am really pleased that we have located another photo. Smiley face

I agree with RichardW this is Harborne. Everything fits. I have got a name for the cinema and the large bus garage is next door in Serpentine Road. Well done RichardW. This has remained unsolved since June.
