Lawnswood House, built pre 1860 home of George Walker a Merchant who sold it to Thomas Stuttard Esq. J.P. Cotton Merchant. The house was occupied by his daughter Miss Constance Annie Stuttard until her death aged 90 in 1965. Lanes Construction Co built the bungalows and houses which now stand there around 1966/67. |

Northern part of what remained of Swinton Park. Main features are bottom right the newly laid Swinton Park Golf Course (once part of the Park) with club House. The old Swinton Park Farm house just left of the club house. As far as I can see Oakwood is not on this image. Oakwood itself as far as I am aware also had no park land, it was within Swinton Park. |
