The County Ground at Ashley Down, looking due west, before the start of the 1921 season, which at the time was one of the largest playing arenas for first-class cricket in England, rivalled by Edgbaston and the Kennington Oval. The neighbouring streets were built around the same period as the development of the Gloucestershire CCC HQ, from the late 1880s. |
