A wagon on the low level lines, served by hydraulic lifts, these lines ran across the adjacent streets and under Broad Street station and good yards, serving a veritable labyrinth of arches and sheds. |

A remarkably modern looking set up here - overhead cranes across a range of sidings and space to drop containers and loads straight onto lorries - it is a pity there were not more signs of such investment in freight by rail, especially containers, in the immediate post war period. |

Worship Street Sidings - A good deal of the container traffic was probably meat for Spitalfields Market, take the last half mile or so by road. There are 'white' insulated containers to be seen and a fair number of empty flats and low side wagons to carry them. |
