Alongside Joseph Watson's Soap Works was the Leeds Aire Street Power Station. Four or five years later than these photos were taken (circa 1930) my father on his horse drawn barge delivered a load of coal. During school holidays I accompanied him and remember delivering the coal to the power station. A year or two later we also delivered the same to Kirkstal power station. My late brother worked at Watsons for a short time. |
