Hello Joel, In 1956 when I was in the RAF at Hereford I travelled by train from Bristol. I recall that the heavy Crewe train laboured somewhat up the incline into Pontypool past the Engine Shed on the left. I recall that on leaving either Pontypool Road or Abergavenny farther to the north the train passed the "British Nylon Spinners" factory on the left. Can you satisfy my memory please. Kent. |

Kent The BNS plant was about One mile out of Pontypool Road station at Little Mill Junction. You can't anything more about your train or what you saw at BNS by any chance can you. I ask as I'm a mmeber of a group building a model of Little Mill Junction incl the BNS private siding, ca 1955. (see here: http://www.newportmrs.com/). Regards Rod |
