The Village Pant or Pump was in use up until the early 20th century. The attached photo was taken on the 11th October 2014.

The parish church of St Aidan. It has memorials to Grace Darling in the church & churchyard and the Grace Darling Museum is now in the RNLI building opposite. See http://www.staidan-bamburgh.co.uk. The attached photo was taken on the 11th October 2014.

Lifeboat Cottage, but now known as The Boathouse. This was one of the first lifeboat stations to be built in Britain in the early 1820's and is now a holiday let. The lifeboat station is now at Seahouses. The attached photo taken on the 11th October 2014 shows the large lintel above where the large doors used to be.

Shipwrecks were common on this stretch of coastline and a Dr John Sharp (1722 - 1792) who was resident at the castle founded what is recognised as the first coastguard system in the world.
