The Bloody Steps. Christina Collins was raped and murdered by the crew of the canal boat on which she was travelling to London in 1839. Though you can't tell from the photograph, there is a steep bank on the bend. Her body was found in the canal near here, and carried up the steps to the Talbot Inn. Some say her ghost haunts the steps. |
