This strip of land was used for Whippet racing on a Sunday morning.Wether this was legal or not,I do not know,but while I was train spotting,the crowds would appear,gamble ,run the dogs and disappear,within say an hour. |

recently visited the site...seem to recollect two tall red painted with curved tops doors on bank lane entrance and a gas lamp fitment above the opening. Never saw the station (too young!!)just the doors. (or am I imagining things?)Passed here many times - Summer evenings train spotting off park hse bridge and up to the heights for fish shop supper. |

Exactly. It was occupied by squatters for some years after WWII ended - Salford lost a lot of housing in the Blitz. |
