Never mind the location... look at the process. Uniform material, uniform slope, lots of parallel streams (EAW029401 is even better for that!) with very few tributaries, lot of head of steam storage (lakes) ... how I wish this had been available when teaching drainage basins. ... and a dynamically, ever changing pattern depending on tide and the arrival of new sediment. This is how much of the present landscaped would probably have looked like before today's green and pleasant land! |

I am sure that these patterns are on the beaches at Cleethorpes. If you zoom in on the 2008 images on Google Earth you get a good impression of the patterns. This is probably the best of the four photos to compare to Google. |

Hi Graeme, The original Aerofilms Ltd Register entry is "Patterns in mud - Grimsby". But to all intents and purposes impossible to pin down because these things change - and especially since 1950 when the photo was taken.
