 The lack of beach material caused this section of the fortification to be under-mined by wave action leading to a large section collapsing on 26th February 2021. |

| This shingle bank is now a popular walk to the Fort from Milford on sea. During WW2 tracks were laid for trains to bring ammunition and supplies to the fort. |
