My Grandfather owned a Music Shop here for many years. It closed in 1962, but have many happy memories of visiting and playing in yard behind the house. I also remember sleeping in a bedroom next to Broad Street and hearing the founder hammers working throught the early evenings

Park Street Methodist Church. The last service was held in 1965 and the building became a factory. It was finally demolished in 1987

The Bethel Church, Union Street. Dating from 1879, the original Bethel is the much smaller building just behind the image in the picture. In 1909 a 'new' Bethel was opened, much closer to the road. This church survived both wars & is still very much in use today - the only church that remains in the village.

Wynn's Iron Foundry - sprawling complex that employed many people. Closed down around the late 60's early 70's before being completely demolished.
