The date 1938 is incorrect. Purchased by the Crown Commissioners from the Osborn family, 15th April 1936, it was rented to Mr. Gerald Bagshawe who remained until the arrival of the Navy and RAF. The estate was sold to the Ministry of Defence, 1st July 1962 with the benefit of all the existing leases. (Source: Crown Commissioners Archives) |
