Both flat bottom vessels appear to be sitting on the mud - indeed what appears to be a consolidated platform next to the Jetty. |

This is the southern end of the LCC (London County Council) Becontree Estate Railway, that operated 1921-1934. The line was built to bring in supplies to several large housing developments at Becontree and Chadwell Heath.

There is no sign of the jetty or the railway on the present day aerial pictures and much of the area in the background has been development with housing, industry and transport facilities, although the marsh area immediately around the dock seems to have been avoided. |
