Drypool swing bridge. It was so narrow, two buses could not pass each other. |

Hydraulic pump house. Powers such things as the lock gates, cranes and capstans.
This building survives (2017) as a refuge for the rough sleepers. |

The tram lines here were "interlaced" so as only one tram could be on the bridge at any one time. This eastbound tram is waiting for the one ahead to clear the bridge before proceeding. This was also other reason for the bridge being replaced by the present one a few yards to the north. |
