The pin is a little off; it's on the approaches to the station. The station itself was in the block near the Clock Tower. |

The building Is (was 1940 onwardss) the home of the Croydon Town Hall and Whitgift libary, the town hall gardens just above the location was reputedly the site of the first "vacuum railway" in which the carriages were sucked along tunnels by extracting air. Further beyond the site indicated as the old railway location was a car park until the Croydon technical colledge and Fairfields Hall were built on the site. |
