John May and Co. Ltd, The Brewery, Brook Street, Basingstoke. May’s brewery was founded in 1750 or 1756. Taken over by H. & G. Simonds of Reading in January 1947 and brewing ceased on 31 March 1950. Brewery demolished in 1967-68 to make way for Churchill Way. |
