| This area would be developed during the immediate run up to WW2 as RAF Stanmore Park, a non-flying station barrage balloon centre and technical support site for nearby RAF Bentley Priory (HQ Fighter Command).
RAF Stanmore Park remained operational until 1997 when it was closed and sold off for housing development. |
