A train heading for Masham, Northallerton or Thirsk. All three lines are now closed as indeed in the line south to Harrogate, Ripon now having no rail connection... one of the larger towns in the country not to have a railway.

Are these changing booths (cubicles) for those wishing to swim in what appears to be a wide and deep part of the river?

Hi Maurice,

Yes! The OS 1:2500 of 1929 marks this building as "Bathing Pavilion".

I've not visited Ripon, it's on my list of English towns to see. Such as shame the railway has gone.
