Grange Road (not convinced I have the true vantage point of the picture - further to the left?) I have no date for the pic.

1932 was the year before London Transport was established so this AEC double-decker bus (probably ST class)was either operated by the London General company or London General Country Services. If the latter it was possibly operating on the Route 306 to Borehamwood and Barnet.

Bourne Hall, replaced with a block of 1960s flats.

The Cloisters, since demolished and replaced by flats.

The Rose Garden, on the site of Herkomer's school - beautifully restored a few years ago with Lottery money. Fond memories of cycling like mad on the path around the lawn and climbing (!) all over the loggia.

1903 Corporation dust destructor chimney near the Watford FC ground at Vicarage Road, which was felled in 1947 after displaying a Pisa-type lean!
