The Three Fishes Public house, shown after it was rebuilt in 1934 by the architect Joseph Hill FRIBA for Hodgson's Kingston Brewery. The pub which was later renamed the Royal Charter, closed in 1986 and has since been demolished.
In 1903, the Three Fishes, Richmond road was fully licensed by Arthur Barnett and owned by Hodgsons Kingston Brewery Ltd, to which it was tied. |

Improved pedestrian flows are the result of a new concrete bridge.
The new station is a mixture of the Southern's concrete and brick designs. It has stood the test of time fairly well, still being in use today. |

Are these signs of the station being rebuilt? There are no adverts on the hoardings and the canopy roofs seem to be incomplete. The platform edge of the bay seems to be very clean and the yard in front of the station has string of long wheelbase, open 4 wheeled wagons that could well have brought in the components for reconstruction... for example concrete platform materials from the Exmouth Junction Concrete works in Exeter. |
