The railway in this area is quite complex. This line leads both to the left and right to triangle junctions. Ardwick was to the left- however the connection at Ardwick was removed some time ago, only the viaduct remains and can be seen from trains leaving Manchester Piccadilly. |

Actually, to the left is Miles Platting junction, and Manchester Victoria. To the right, the lower line, is the route to Ashbuys and Ardwick via Midland junction to Ardwick junction. |
