This whole area was lost to open-cast mining in the late 1960's and early 1970's. The land was left to settle for around 10 years before being covered with houses.

Great Western railway line - Stourbridge - Wolverhampton (Low Level). At this point the line lies on the Western Boundary Fault which marks the western edge of the coal/clay fields. To the west the coal is much deeper, and few deep mines were dug - Baggerage being on of the few.
