You are absolutely correct!! I finished my apprenticeship here after Finnieston and Govan shipyard closed. We built 4.5 inch Vickers twin gun turrets for frigates and destroyers. |

this is actually Harland and wolff Ordnance works where they built naval guns. The diesel engine works were at Finnieston. However it was an engine works for a short spell in the late 20's early 30's. see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coventry_Ordnance_Works |
