| Station building at ex Rhondda & Swansea Bay Railway station on their main line from Treherbert to Swansea Docks. Double track throughout except here, where a running line had to be sacrificed just to provide one platform. The GWR strongly objected to this section of the R&SB being built at all. Presumably so did the residents of Railway Terrace and Lowther Street. |

Appears to be a second station/platform between the rows of terraced houses. While the main line belonged to the GWR a number of other railways were attracted to Briton Ferry, including a link from theTaff Vale Railway. Perhaps they squeezed a line in around the main station? |

The Rhondda & Swansea Bay Railway line ran parallel to the GW through here and had its own station prior to the new arrangements of 1935 |

| Narrow gauge railway (c2ft gauge) that seems to come fom behind the white building a run to a area that look rather like a tip. |

| Dating might be helped as the station was resited in 1935, some 465 metres to the north. The present station reopen after a period of closure is located at this pin. With the station in the picture further south, I think we can safely say the picture is pre-1935. |
