 Cheltenham GPO Telephone Exchange. The modern section no doubt housed new automatic Strowger equipment, while the old house on the left contained manual switchboards with operators, and offices. Notice the cable drums in the yard. This has all been completely rebuilt since (to increase capacity, obviously), but a shame the old house at the front had to go to make way for it. |
