Kimberley Rugby Gardens Gate house. The only vehicular access into Kimberley.

In 1948 this building was a stores together with an office.

This whole area of the Southern Railway Works was known as Kimberley. This shop in 1948 was the 'Wagon building and repairing shop'. The southerly end was the 'new' Saw Mill.

In 1948 this was the 'carriage and wagon wheel shop, a stores, machine shop, and wagon smiths' & fitters shop all together in this long shop.

This area of the East Stour River was known as 'The Oaky'. The river here widened out like a basin and the nearby mature oak tree had a rope swing attached to one of its branches overhanging the river. It was deep enough here to swing out and jump in and swim in the water.

Somewhere about here of the East Stour River, was locally known as 'The Sandy'. As far as I can remember the water was clear and the river bed was sandy.
